Neil Cowling

Neil Cowling

Creative Development Director

Neil is a multi-award winning writer and producer, having worked across both BBC and commercial radio for over 20 years. He’s managed hundreds of projects from local radio ads to the BBC’s London 2012 promotional campaign, and directed voice sessions everyone from his own to children to David Attenborough. He’s won awards for documentaries, children’s radio shows, and commercial ads, and has run his own production company – Fresh Air – since 2003. However, the highlight of his career was writing the lyrics for Neil and Christine Hamilton’s 2006 World Cup song “England are Jolly Dee”, described by The Daily Mirror as “Probably the worst song ever recorded”
As Creative Development Director, he is tasked with overseeing all production projects, seeking out new opportunities to make great audio, and authorising the wearing of slippers in the office (a policy that is constantly under review!)

Sara Hashem

Sara Hashem

Senior Creative Producer

Sara has worked in radio for nearly a decade, eight of those years have been spent in commercial production. Previously to Maple Street, she was based in Manchester with brilliant people and great great pies. Sara has been lucky enough to work with a plethora of famous faces and has made ads for every sector imaginable! Despite missing chips and gravy immensely, she says "being Senior Producer at MSS is GREAT!" Fun fact: Sara is an Irish Egyptian.

Louise Mulroy

Louise Mulroy

Executive Producer

Tea lover, lager enthusiast and “fixer of broken things.” She’s a dab-hand at a broadcast PR session, a podcast mix down and commercial production. Louise started her radio career in Cardiff at Real Radio Wales, producing live national content, assist engineering on Jagger & Woody’s seaside tour (later nominated for Radio Station Event of the Year in the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards) and consuming a constant stream of Welsh cakes. A champion wire solderer and gin fiend, Louise is always on hand to engineer a session or prop up a bar.

Richard Spalding

Richard Spalding

Creative Writer

Rich is our newest Creative Writer. He’s lived in Kidderminster, Doncaster and Poole before moving to London, so is well accustomed to the glamour of big city life. Rich has been working as a commercial scriptwriter for two years, writing commercials for pubs, garages, pubs, some garages, a few pubs, a garage and a Parrot Zoo. His moustache is pathetic. His jumpers are superb.

Nicki Marinovic

Nicki Marinovic

Senior Creative Copywriter

Nicki recently swapped her wellies for Nike Air Max’s and moved from the Welsh valleys to London town to join the Maple Street team. She’s worked in radio for almost 10 years now and has graced the creative departments of most of the UK’s biggest and best radio stations, helping clients nail their creative campaigns. “I’m a radio gypsy!” Her words! But Maple Street Studios is her favourite workplace to date because “the Maple Street Studios team are amazing and so, SO talented. Plus I get to wear slippers at work!”

Laura Gallop

Laura Gallop

Production Assistant

Laura is our new Production Assistant. Having joined us from BBC Radio 4, she works on the longer form content that we produce here at Maple Street. Thanks to her research, she is queen of ‘conversations you certainly don’t expect to hear in the office’– we’ve overheard her natter with white witches, mermaids, and ‘penetration testers’ (we’ll let you google that one). Likewise, she’s now an expert on peat in the Yorkshire moors, and can set you up at rodeo school in Oklahoma if that’s your kind of thing.
